Fostoria Rotary Club will be hosting their 2012 Golf Invitational at Indianbrook Golf Club on Wednesday, June 13, 2012. This years event will have a 4 person scramble format; $75/golfer, $300/team.

Proceeds benefit local educational and community programs.

Jamie Farr Golf Tickets

The Fostoria Mentoring Program is pleased to be associated with the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic golf tournament, sponsored in part by Kroger to be held August 6 – 12 at the Highland Meadows Country Club in Sylvania, Ohio. This sponsorship allows only Kroger customers to buy a $50 Weekly Grounds Exchange Ticket and get another ticket for FREE at the customer service desk until July 26, 2012. Purchasers can share the ticket cost and then choose the day(s) to attend. Instructions are on the tickets for exchanging them for Weekly Grounds Badges.

The JFTC has helped non-profit organizations for 27 years, and the mentoring program will benefit when customers write our name on the ticket tear-off and leave it at the Kroger service desk. These Buy 1 / Get 1 Free $50 tickets can only be purchased at a participating Krogers (Fostoria & Tiffin are participating) and you must designate “Fostoria Mentoring Program on the ticket tear off when you purchase the tickets.

The Fostoria Mentoring Program is also selling $100 Weekly Clubhouse Tickets which gives attendees access to the clubhouse and its amenities. Again, cost and days can be shared. Please call either 419-435-7789 or 419-435-8727 for further information about this level of purchase.

Any sale that indicates the Fostoria Mentoring Program on the tear-off for either the $50/Free tickets or the $100 clubhouse tickets will garner funds to support the mentoring efforts for the 2012-2013 school term. If you choose to purchase daily tickets at the gate, you may also indicate the Fostoria Mentoring Program as the beneficiary and this will be added to the donations.

Many thanks to all Fostoria residents for their continued support of the Fostoria Mentoring Program that has been matching at-risk children in Fostoria City Schools with adult role models for 12 years.

Goggle Training

We are offering a lunch & learn Google training with Paul Craun from ACI Construction, who will be teaching the training course at the Chamber office on March 7^th from 11:30am-1:00pm.

The training will help to teach businesses how to use tools within Google to help promote there business, etc.

The cost is $15 & we have 2 remaining seats available, please bring your lunch with you.

Seneca County CEDS

This is the first Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for Seneca County since an initial overall strategy was submitted to Economic Development Administration (EDA), U.S. Department of Commerce, in mid-1980′s. Because of the time that has elapsed since that plan, this CEDS was developed as a completely new strategy.

FOSTORIA FLAG FUND

Community Patrons formally launched a fund raising campaign to install a lighted 80-foot tall brushed satin finish aluminum flagpole that will fly a beautiful 20′ by 30′ American Flag here in Fostoria. The proposed site will be at the top of Mid-block underpass in the center of the three-point “Fostoria” sign.

Positive and patriotic, patrons are asking for your financial support for this project. Timeline for this outstanding landmark: Installation and dedication ~ June, 2012. Please contact our office today for addition information on how you can be involved. 419-435-7789
