Community Patrons formally launched a fund raising campaign to install a lighted 80-foot tall brushed satin finish aluminum flagpole that will fly a beautiful 20′ by 30′ American Flag here in Fostoria. The proposed site will be at the top of Mid-block underpass in the center of the three-point “Fostoria” sign.

Positive and patriotic, patrons are asking for your financial support for this project. Timeline for this outstanding landmark: Installation and dedication ~ June, 2012. Please contact our office today for addition information on how you can be involved.  419-435-7789

The Fostoria Mentoring Program pairs adult volunteers with Fostoria City School students who are considered at-risk.  Mentoring can be a powerful tool for helping at-risk youth to realize their potential.  Caring adults who are willing to offer local youth their friendship, support, advice and example can be a driving force for these young people to achieve their dreams. 

Anyone interested in becoming a mentor, making a financial contribution or simply learning more about the mentoring program is invited to call Fostoria Economic Development Corporation at 419-435-8727.

Thank you to all Chamber members that attended the Ribbon Cutting for Kemosabes Roadhouse Grill!  It was held on Friday, January 20th at 11am where about 35 business members joined us for the ribbon cutting.  Kemosabes held a small sampling of foods afterwards for all of those in attendance.  Congratulations to our newest Chamber Member – Kemosabes Roadhouse Grill!!

Clean Ohio Revitalization Fund Grant

The City of Fostoria is applying for a grant from the Clean Ohio Revitalization Fund for a clean up of the IAR Land Fostoria LLC property, formerly known as the ThyssenKrupp property, located at 901S. US Route 23, Fostoria, Oho 44830. 

The application will be available for review at the Kaubisch Memorial Public Library, located at 205 Perry Street on January 20, 2012 until March 14, 2012. 

A public meeting to discuss and solicit comments for the grant application will be held at 4:30 p.m.m on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the Kaubisch Memroial Public Library, located at 205 Perry Street.

Light-Up Fostoria took place on Saturday, December 10 & Sunday, December 11 from 5-8pm.  With over 250 visitors walked the streets of downtown Fostoria taking part in the kids crafts, hot cocoa, goodies & of course shopping.

 

Quality Printing & Graphics took 1st place in the Light-Up Fostoria window decorating contest. Second place went to Fostoria Pizza Palace & third place to The Bookshelf II & More.
