Fostoria Area Safety Council
Fostoria Area Safety Council
Safety should be part of every business, no matter what size it is. The Chamber brings this message to its members and the community through its sponsorship of the Fostoria Area Safety Council. The Council receives support from the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Division of Safety & Hygiene.
The Council’s mission is to serve businesses and individuals and advance the safety knowledge and training of the Fostoria Community. We work to provide increased safety awareness through the combined efforts of companies, the BWC and the community at large. Our goals are:
•To provide a forum for businesses and industries interested in occupational safety and health.
•To examine and resolve potential and existing safety and health problems.
•To inform participants of new safety and health techniques, products and services and to provide a thorough knowledge of these services.
•To encourage safety programs through a safety campaign.
Membership in the Safety Council is open to representatives of business and industry in the Fostoria Area interested in developing increased safety awareness. The annual membership fee is $120 per company representative which covers the monthly lunch meetings 11:30am-1:00pm held on the third Wednesday at Fostoria Community Hospital. The meetings include a program on a safety topic selected by the membership.
The Fostoria Area Safety Council also sponsors an Annual Safety Awards program and participates in the Ohio Safety Contest. Members must complete reports twice a year for award participation.
